The App That Leads To Falling Fruit

The  team  behind  the  giant,  global  urban  foraging  map FallingFruit.org  want  to  put  their  map  at your fingertips, on your phone. Since launching from Boulder, Colorado last year, the map has grown to over half a million edible locations worldwide and garnered an active user base spanning all seven continents. A veritable Wikipedia for urban foraging,  the map  is created by and for its users. With a mobile app, they will be able to easily browse, interact with and add to the map as they move about the world. “We want to make the urban harvest as accessible as possible.  A mobile app is the next obvious step.”  said  Caleb Phillips, who cofounded Falling Fruit with Ethan Welty in March 2013.

There is currently a crowdfunding effort to build this app. Please donate here http://www.barnraiser.us/projects/fallingfruit-org-mobilize-the-urban-harvest. Any donations need to be made by May 30, 2014.
