Touchstone Angus Grass Fed Beef was begun in 1993 near Elizabeth, Colorado with a goal to raise healthier beef that was tender and delicious as well. We began with angus cattle because they were proven to offer the most tender and flavorful of the beef breeds.
The ranch is set-up for rotational grazing similar to the grazing pattern of the North American Bison/Buffalo. Each pasture is given periods for rest and re-growth. This grazing practice can significantly improve the health of native ranges. This grazing practice also improves wildlife habitat for the many native species now thriving on the ranch.
The grass fed cattle are able to spend their entire lives grazing open pastures. During parts of the winter the cattle may need to be supplemented. The supplemental feed is primarily grass and alfalfa hay raised on the ranch when snow prevents sufficient grazing.
