In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, City Council passed a number of building resiliency laws, eight of which are currently in effect. With support from the NYC Department of Buildings, Urban Green Council developed this complimentary program to educate building professionals about the new resiliency laws, the resulting code changes, and how they will prepare the city for future extreme weather events.

  • 29/13  Raising and Moving Buildings
  • 82/13  Providing a Flood Manual
  • 83/13  Preventing Sewage Backflow
  • 95/13  Protecting Patient Care Areas
  • 96/13  Survey Data and Flood Maps
  • 99/13  Cable Length and Fuel Oil Storage
  • 109/13  Temporary Flood Shields
  • 111/13  Emergency and Standby Power

As a result, New York City architects and engineers are tasked with learning new code requirements and creating stronger, more resilient buildings. With support from the NYC Department of Buildings, Urban Green Council developed this program to educate building professionals about the laws, the resulting code changes, and how they will prepare the city for future extreme weather events.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is free, but registration is required for building security purposes.
