This introductory class will dive into how mushrooms have been a delightful delicacy, treasured and revered by Emperors and Kings throughout the ages because of the many health and nutritional benefits provided. Lareina DePalma will introduce you to the folklore and history of mushrooms, important health benefits and how to prepare, and wrap up by touching upon several methods of growing mushrooms in/outdoors which will be on display. Lareina began teaching hands-on classes to promote ecosystem conservation in her teens and has been educating in her community ever since. Her work over the years has included teaching others about renewable energy systems, installing wine turbines, and consulting property owners in renewable energy installation.
A second hands-on class ($49- Tentative date TBD) will include making your own spore inoculated medium to grow gourmet mushrooms, all supplies included.
