The Milkweed Mercantile is located at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage, a leader in the international ecovillage movement. Our Inn and Café are housed in a spacious two-story straw bale, solar and wind-powered building. The Mercantile is now operated by a cooperative made up of Dancing Rabbit members.
The Mercantile Organic Cafe is serving hand-crafted pizza and 26 kinds of beer every Thursday night. Families are welcome! Reservations for pizza night are highly recommended. We have one dog-friendly room, the downstairs Wallace Stegner room.
The Milkweed Mercantile is a demonstration of many things that are happening here at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage. We offer alternative construction, renewable energy, organic gardening, and are finding a more sustainable way of living. Our goal? To show that living lightly is about joy, not deprivation. Stay in a super comfortable strawbale building that is powered by the sun and wind, shower in rainwater, eat local and organic food prepared by talented and caring chefs.
