Welcome to a unique setting: a beautiful family home built out of organic materials – mud, straw, and wood; finished with natural sealants and eco-friendly paints; and lots of love.

So make an earth-conscious choice with your holiday this year.

Samhitakasha is built from mud and straw, like many traditional African houses, but in this case using “cob” techniques perfected in parts of the west of Britain. It was built on a brown-field site, i.e. one that had a previous house on it, in an existing suburb (the previous house was demolished in the 1970s), rather than a green-field site – virgin soil which could be used for conservation or agriculture.

A gorgeous world city, with a past as varied as are the many cultures who have made Cape Town what it is, there are many opinions and perspectives on what you should see and do here. We can help make your visit worthwhile and enjoyable with our in-house tours (registered with the Dept of Tourism) that are imaginative, ethical, conscious, and the quickest way to get to feel at home in the Western Cape.
