Taos Ski Valley is one of North Americas top ski/ride resorts. Still family owned and operated Taos has been challenging the best skiers and riders for over 50 years with its famed steeps and teaching beginners with its wold class snowsports school.
Choosing green means that we are pursuing business practices that are not only environmentally friendly, but also promote a more resilient and robust community. The mission of Taos Verde is to identify and pursue the practices that will realize that objective. In pursuit of that goal we have identified the following five core areas of focus: energy, stewardship, water, waste, and engagement.

Taos was awarded 2016 National Ski Area Associations Sustainable Slopes High-Efficiency Snowmaking grant. Through this grant our friends at HKD Snowmakers will award us five low-energy, high-efficiency snowmaking guns, which will help bring us that much closer to our energy efficiency goals. Trails Manager John Weinmeister was named one of three finalists for the National Ski Area Association’s Hero of Sustainability Award. John has played a major role in helping us pursue our energy efficiency goals.
