The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Co., Inc. has won USDA Biobased Certification for its Old Fashioned Milk Paint. The USDA Certified Biobased Product Label verifies that the paint’s renewable biobased ingredients meet or exceed USDA standards. Biobased products are materials composed of agricultural, forestry, or marine materials. Old Fashioned Milk Paint and the company’s newest formula, SafePaint for walls, are made from natural materials including milk protein (casein), crushed limestone, clay and earth pigments.

“We are pleased to take part in the USDA’s Biobased Labeling program and hope it will further set our natural paint apart from the many chemically produced paints currently on the market” said Anne Thibeau, the milk paint company’s President.

According to the USDA, consumers can feel secure in the accuracy of the biobased claim and can make better informed purchasing decisions.

“We are pleased that The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Co., Inc. has earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label,” said Ron Buckhalt, USDA BioPreferred Program Manager. “Biobased products provide opportunities to help add value to renewable commodities, create jobs in rural communities, and generate investment income.”

Eco-Orchard Paint is a newly formulated, all natural milk paint. We are happy to announce that we are a new Business Partner with CCOF- California Certified Organic Farmers.

We hope that our new Eco-Orchard Paint will provide an effective, ecologically safe solution for preventing sun scald not only on organic farms, but for anyone interested in protecting their trees in the safest way possible.

We are pleased to announce that we will now carry AFM Safecoat Acriglaze Matte Finish as a replacement for our satin Clear Coat, which is being discontinued. Why? We have long searched for a good, non-toxic clear finish that will seal our milk paint without changing the soft, flat sheen of our paint. We believe we have finally found it with the Safecoat product, and will start carrying it immediately, in quarts and gallons.
