Founder of Sweetwater Organic Community Farm, Rick Martinez, will host this workshop. Rick has been an organic farmer in the Tampa Bay Area for more than 37 years and helped to create the original organic regulations that govern the industry to this day. In this three-hour workshop you’ll learn exactly what organic means and how to do your own organic gardening at home. Rick will cover soil health, composting techniques, seed selection and preparation, organic pest control methods, irrigation and much more! Whether you have a large plot or prefer container gardening, you’ll benefit Rick’s extensive knowledge and experience.
Bring your own 5 gallon container (or smaller) and take away compost to get your own garden started!
