Come join us at the Smith Haven Mall for National Drive Electric Week, (Sept 12 from 10am – 5PM, 2015). The nationwide celebration is staged to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the environmental and other benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more.
Our goal is to bring the message of the availability and practicality of non-polluting and low operating cost EVs to consumers, local government officials, policymakers, the media, and the general public.
Smith Haven Mall is Suffolk County’s largest regional shopping center and principal shopping destination in the heart of a bustling retail corridor nestled between 347 (Nesconset-Port Jefferson Hwy) and 25 (Jericho Turnpike).
Test Drive Overview:
See it, experience it! Dealership’s will make the test drive concept a reality by providing concierge style-test drives.
Electric Auto Enthusiasts: Members of Long Island Electric Auto Association www.lieaa.org will be present with their personal autos in an area designated on the exterior of the mall to discuss their experiences owning and driving an EV.
Exhibitors: Solar photo-voltaic installers who have installed EV chargers will be invited to exhibit because of their connection with renewable electricity; the electric utility LIPA will also be invited to exhibit, as would the suppliers of EV chargers
Government Electric Vehicles: EVs owned by local governments, school districts, etc., will be present, along with a representative of that organization who will discuss their purchase and operation.
Display Exhibitors: Smith Haven Mall is providing local auto dealers and exhibitors with pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids to exhibit their cars/products at the National Drive Electric Day event September 12, 2015. Please call for rates!
