If you yearn for a romantic escape to a tropical Caribbean Island paradise, your quest has ended. Hix Island House rewards you with a luxurious retreat amidst rustic Zen-like. Offering refreshingly unique comfort for body and soul, Hix Island House is located in a 13-acre natural refuge of native trees, tall grasses, birds and butterflies where you’ll be at one with nature and savor the peaceful bliss of privacy, silence, and tranquility. Including reservations for restaurants, sailing trips, horseback riding, biking, fishing and our world-famous Vieques Biobay.

We offer a generous selection of provisions in our lobby honor bar, as well as free Wi-Fi. Beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrellas, cooler bags and snorkeling gear are yours for the taking to the beach. And in your room, you’ll be indulged with Frette linens & robes, exclusive Neeva Gayle cotton shirts, outdoor showers, and kitchens fully stocked with everything one needs to make breakfast; eggs, cereal, juice, Puerto Rican coffee, tea, milk, jam, fruit, and homemade bread.

Our guests welcome a divergence from their mundane urban/suburban life, and we invite you to do the same. Built over a 10 year period on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico, the Hix Island House has received international acclaim from media, guests and the hotel industry. We strive to maintain that high level of service and satisfaction for you!

Solar panels augment the electricity and hot water. Water is collected and your shower and basins flow to guavas, bananas, papayas and lemons; giving back to Nature. This approach has earned Hix Island House the first Sustainable Tourism Facility certification from Puerto Rico Tourism.
