On June 8th, World Ocean Day will be celebrated in Belgium’s maritime city of Oostende. A collection of activities including lectures, stand-up comedy, a debate and a crowded ‘sea market’ will focus on the overarching theme of ‘dangers of the sea’. WOD Belgium will be the launch event of a series of summer activities along the Belgian coast. These activities aim at triggering the curiosity of tourists and raising their awareness about how their attitude towards the sea has an impact on their own health and safety. This event is framed within the European Horizon 2020 project Sea Change (www.seachangeproject.eu).
