Connecting to Achieve Greatness

connecting to achieve greatness

A topic that I talk a lot about in respect to protecting our planet is connectedness. It’s something that we often take for granted, but when we understand how we are connected in the grand scheme of things, life becomes so much better.

I am sharing with you today a personal story. It is about when we connect to other people, it can open the doors to greatness.

When you meet and talk to someone for the first time, there is usually an instant connection or not. Today, I was so grateful to be able to connect with someone that I normally probably wouldn’t talk to.

While I was on Facebook several days ago, I came across a person whose energy I couldn’t help but be attracted to.  The friend request was sent. I let the universe do the rest of the work.

Interestingly enough, this person turns out to be a life and business coach. I discovered very quickly that he is someone that cares about people, truly. His name is Shenan Charania and at the time of writing this I can’t help but say I want to make sure I keep talking to him.

Shenan allowed me to talk about myself. He allowed me to ramble. I felt bad about this because it is usually me the one on the other side doing the listening. Today, Shenan let me be who I needed to be for a few hours. To talk about what I do, how I feel, my business, what I’m supposed to do in life and still grieve a personal loss.

While allowing me to talk through the things I have been feeling he asked me questions so I could wake up and get myself in the right direction. If I wasn’t clear, he asked me why. Sometimes it seemed frustrating, like I was already answering these questions.  I realized though that I have been glossing over deeper issues going on and there is something that I have kept hidden deep down for a long time. I created rules that I have made for myself. Now it is my time to come alive and stop living by all of these made up rules and start making my own destiny come to fruition.

Sometimes all that I need is for someone to make that slight tweak inside of my brain. It is just enough so I can go down the right path.

Here I thought I was going down the right path when I started becoming an entrepreneur. I have made many mistakes and have learned many good lessons. I will not make these mistakes again. But now, I have to realize that my path towards doing something epic for the world is just waiting for me. It is my time to shine and be authentic and bring so much good to the world. I will stop apologizing for what I do and for what I believe in. I will be the best damn eco person this world has ever seen.

So what has changed for me? I think that we need to be broken down sometimes in order to achieve greatness. We need to get our hearts broken sometimes. We need to fail. We need sometimes for bad things to happen in our lives. Why? Because I personally believe that until we go through these things, we are simply a shadow of ourselves, but not our true selves. When trauma happens in our lives it makes us better than when we started. We learn to not be selfish anymore, but selfless.

I am on this journey of healing. I am on a journey to do what’s good for our planet. I am on a journey to do what’s right for people. We only have one chance on this earth and we have to make it count.

I am grateful for meeting a beautiful soul like Shenan today. He was so gracious and kind. He was calm and so very patient. He understands the true meaning of giving service to people. It is like connecting to an exquisite soul and mind simultaneously. He has this gift of getting you to open up and bare your soul.

I was so thankful that on our first meeting we couldn’t see each other. It was simply a call. As he asked me these very deep and soulful questions, I couldn’t help but well up with emotion. I tried so hard to not let my voice quiver or get quiet. I definitely failed at that.  I let tears stream down my face so I could have some outlet of expression. I had to let it all go and not be stoic anymore.

Even though I am a president of a company and an entrepreneur for the green world, at the end of the day I am a human with very strong emotions. I think through our conversation I have new purpose and new meaning.

Shenan allowed me to stop fighting back, and to just let go. When I just go with the flow, I can let myself be vulnerable and open and be my authentic self. I can go and be free of my own judgmental self and be the epic person I so much want to be.

Thank you Shenan for connecting with me and letting me be free. You are my conduit to greatness and you will never know how much that truly means to me.
