Whether you’re new to biking or you’re a seasoned veteran, you’ll find MB Financial Bank Bike the Drive an event to remember—nearly five hours of car-free riding while enjoying breathtaking views of the city and the lake. Don’t miss the one day of the year when bicycles reign on Lake Shore Drive.

Make your ride great
Plan on arriving early! The event begins at 5:30 a.m., and we recommend starting no later than 7:00 a.m.
The earlier you start biking, the more you’ll be able to enjoy!
Registered participants with rider numbers can start the ride at:
>> Columbus Drive and Jackson Drive
>> Bryn Mawr rest stop
>> Museum of Science & Industry rest stop
>> Fullerton check point
>> Oakwood check point
The round-trip distance encompasses 30 scenic miles, with the northern turnaround point at Bryn Mar Avenue and the southern turnaround at 57th Street. Bike as little or as long as you like during the event!
Feel free to take a break. There are three rest stops along the route where light snacks and water are provided. We provide the water, but please help keep our waste to a minimum by bringing your own water bottle.
You don’t have to start there, but the live music, breakfast and sponsor contests may entice you to end your ride at the post-ride festival at Butler Field near the central rest stop.
The event enlists hundreds of volunteers who will ensure that you’ll have the best experience possible. Also on hand will be SAG vehicles for riders who need support. A number of local bike shops will be on hand, as well, with services like free safety checks, and minor repairs, such as flat tires, etc. (shops may charge for parts and major repairs)
