The Tampa Bay Group of Sierra Club in partnership with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful have adopted McKay Bay Nature Park. This beautiful park near downtown Tampa has become overgrown with exotic plants and trash on the trails.
A long-range plan will remove invasive plants, clean up the trash and repair the boardwalk. The first cleanup on January 24 will focus on the new trail that has been built that runs beside the Selmon Expressway. The trail originates in downtown Tampa and continues beside McKay Bay Nature Park.
Families are encouraged to volunteer as we will be joined by the 8th graders of Academy Prep of Tampa and St Petersburg.
