David Hedden aka “Wild Dave” is described on his faculty page at Cal State University of Long Beach as “an avid supporter of community empowerment, sustainable practices, and forward thinking technology,” and we couldn’t agree more.
David Hedden is a Long Beach homegrown maker, educator and agricultural systems designer we get excited about because he is pushing the boundaries of technology and ecology and he always brings the community along for the ride with hands-on workshops, meetups and urban acupuncture projects.
David’s creative garden creations include a public edible landscape at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library, and vertical aquaponics systems at The Growing Experience Urban Farm and Organic Harvest Gardens. We’re looking forward to catching up with David and his new mission to bring aquaponics to the masses, how he’s married maker movement and local food, and about his new headquarters, the SpaceTime Collaborative.
As part of LB Fresh’s PHONE A FOODIST, we will learn more about a design thinker turned garden geek in a call with Ourfoods Agricultural Designer, David Hedden. Register for our Live Webinar by Oct 13th to receive the webinar link. If you register and miss the webinar, we will be e-mailing an audio recording of it to you after the event, so make sure and register if you’re interested in this topic.
ABOUT LB FRESH PHONE A FOODIST SERIES!
LB Fresh is a coordinator of local food movement energy. We talk to exciting farmers, gardners, chefs and advocates who are in the midst of changing our food system. “Phone a Foodist” tracks an in-depth phone call with a local food do-gooder so we can learn more about what they’re doing, how they need help and how they’re helping others.
