Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful recruits 300 high school and college students to come together for a day of learning. It is important that the youth in our community are aware of ecological issues around them so they can create a better future. There are several guest speakers and educational presentations throughout the day that focus on different local ecological issues. Students will learn about
- Environmental sustainability
- Water quality
- Waste reduction
- Recycling
- Conservation
- Composting
- Energy reduction
- Effects of litter
The students who attend this conference leave with more knowledge of their community and how they can make a difference.
The purpose of the Youth Environmental Education Conference is to educate, motivate and inspire our local youth to take an active role in the environmental healthy of our community. We believe that education is the key to change. This conference is an ideal opportunity to stimulate a culture of environmentally minded citizens and better prepare these young leaders for the future.
Throughout lunch, students have the opportunity to visit the multiple vendors in our Environmental Expo. These vendors will provide the students with educational outreach materials and share their ecological message.
